Wrathchild ~ Stakk Attakk ~ Review #55

Fantastic album for any fan of early 80s Glam, lots of fun on this one with songs of love, heartbreak and party life, this was the debut before they went the more political route with later releases, i guess the only negative I could give it would be is that I wish it were longer, ten songs just wasn’t enough lol other than that it’s great, insane chord progressions, fantastic lead singing and harmonies plus enough riffs to satisfy the most hardcore of us, it’s not overly heavy like most glam of the time, they found a nice middle ground on this one, really good stuff worth checking out…

Mood Swings

I get it your paid we can all see your a high roller

But money can’t buy happiness was what I told her

She flipped, how could I speak on her life and I barely know her

She wanted a drink but more than that was what I poured her

Maybe it all comes from what her stepdad showed her

That made her the magician she’s become, there little secret was what he told her

Planting seeds in unformed clay so he could mold her

He stole her, but at the same time he gave her

Something that can’t be taken back when he enslaved her

Making her pole vault at three when you weren’t a gymnast

Had you open your mouth when he wasn’t a dentist

Nothing more than a manipulator

But what I wonder does it justify your behavior

For nothing at all too be given the cold shoulder

Want space then cry when no one comes over

Reject comfort when they offer too console her

I try to rationalize after all thru your tears you’ve mentioned your bipolar

But how do I have you see your still brainwashed from the lie the guy told you

Funny how charenton kinda ryhmes with marry him

Just as much as carencro sorta goes with care no more

Reminds me of the preacher that beat you

And just how fast people will delete you

When they’re needs are not met when they greet you

Mixed with the irony of knowing it’s all but what life will teach you

Could there be more to it, maybe it’s all connected

For the end all of me being neglected

Or possibly reason for me being rejected

Yet they all say they were evenly respected

I wonder sometimes if it’s payback, for what I was way back

Hating the world for what I was forced to see from all the places I stayed at

But haven’t I done enough to tip the scales

I give freely to incarcerated father’s in jails

To mother’s with no food with kids who still remain frail

For as soon as it’s given, with the best of intention, it ultimately leads to another sale

Truth be told I’m tired of caring

More than that I’m tired of sharing

Feelings of worthlessness

Of a life that’s purposeless

If they only knew, what they’re laughter does when I enter there town

But who would expect a frown or me ever feeling down

After all I’m nothing more than a clown
