DIY Slime

Seems it’s all the rage these days, supplies won’t stay on the shelves they say, well if you can’t best them join them I guess…

What You Need:

What You Do:

  1. In one bowl mix 1 oz. glue (about ¼ of the glue bottle) and ¼ cup water. If you want colored slime, add food coloring to the glue and water mixture.
  2. Add ¼ cup of Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) Solution to the glue and water mixture and stir slowly.
  3. The slime will begin to form immediately. Lift some of the solution with the stir stick and observe how the consistency has changed from Step 1.
  4. Stir as much as you can, then dig in and knead it with your hands until it gets less sticky. This is a messy experience but is necessary because it allows the two compounds to bond completely.

  1. Nice! Yeah, the slime project thing is definitely popular right now. 🙂 I work as a program instructor at a day program for adults with special needs and we just made some Halloween slime last week in my room. It was a lot of fun. They each got to take home a little container of it. We tried a different recipe than this one though, so maybe we’ll have to give this one a shot next time. 😀

  2. I am an even bigger fan of slime, but if you like slime, you should try squishies. But anyways, I made a similar post about slime too! I dont like using lots of borax, so I found some really cool and safe ways. Check it out and i hope you like them!
