The Official Count Of Ted Bundy

Ted Bundy never officially admitted to the true number of woman he murder, after his arrest and being told he was to face trail for 36 accounted for deaths at the time, police reports show he responded with “add one more number”, giving the impression it could be 37, 361, 137 or any combination of sorts, after further questioning Bundy stated the true number was only for him to know, it still remains a mystery to this day…

  1. I’ve seen a few of these posts from you … do you have an interest in serial killers?
Just wondering as it was a ‘hobby’ / study of mine along time ago.
Interesting fact: This dude was one of the first known SKs to employ the ‘disability’ card to gain access to his victims. He’d pretend to have a broken leg / arm etc and ask women to help him find keys he’d dropped etc … He’d then take advantage of their ‘helping’ state and them having their guard down.

    • I see we share quite a few things in common, I find it interesting as well, there’s a lot to be said about those that do what they do, perhaps maybe in a way a lot we can learn too, how does one become this way, is a person born with a trait or maybe it stems from experience, if it’s the latter does that mean we all have the potential to be…

  2. Bundy did not say “add one more number” he said “add one more digit.” As a unit of measurement, “digit” could mean five (the number of fingers or toes on a limb). In that case the count would be forty-one. This number comes up again in a letter where, in response to a Newsweek request for an interview, he writes that he will agree “if they promise to print one 41 line paragraph verbatim.” Paragraphs are counted in words, not lines. The only way this comment makes sense is if he is describing a list of forty-one names, (which would be forty-one lines verbatim). If one roughly estimates the number based upon the rate of killing and the time he had available, one comes up with forty-two, so forty-one seems to be reasonable.

If one estimates the count based upon the perceived rate of killing and the time he had available, one comes up with forty-two possible victims. So forty-one seems to be reasonable.
